After the Friday, December 14, production, Director Cassidy Stoecker gathered the six murder suspects for the audience to assess. Left-to-right are Kayla Carpenter (Janet the DJ); Griffin Vos (Professor Lionel Specter); Adam Neumann (Jim Lodge); Alexandria Bullard (Phyllis Lodge); Hailey Kozovic (Dana Scullery); Bailey Smith (Fox Smolder.) Suspects received “ballots” from the audience stating what they believed motived the character to commit murder. Each actor had convinced several viewers that he/she had done the deed. Performers enjoyed reading some comments aloud. Of those who chose correctly, three audience names were drawn and awarded a candy prize.
What happens when a meeting of the Bogeyman Outreach Organization (BOO) convenes at the Mouldering Pines Inn? You can find out for yourself when MHS Drama Club stages a repeat performance of “Polter-Heist.” Madam Zelda Von Schpookum is murdered by someone in attendance at BOO’s convention. Each character in the play has a motive to murder, from hotel owners to an expert on the paranormal. Other likely suspects include members of BOO’s Washington, D.C. chapter, and an eccentric DJ hired to provide entertainment to attendees.
Audience members will meet the ghost who resides at the Mouldering Pines Inn. Olivia makes her presence known through conversations with Madam Zelda.
Director Cassidy Stoecker, Co-Director Cassidy Geerts, and Technical Director Ali Westendorf led the rehearsals and planning to make the show a reality. They worked closely with Morrison Community Unit School District #6 staff member Bob Stone, who serves as Advisor to the Drama Club. In addition, multiple Drama Club members prepared items for the bake sale, volunteered to staff welcome tables on event nights, and provided other assistance, to ensure a successful event for both cast and attendees.
