The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donors to give now. It is critical to ensure blood is available for medical treatments and emergencies during the holiday season.
“We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting, before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life,” said Ann Wells, Market Manager at the Red Cross.
Community Reformed Church, 747 N. 12th Street, Clinton, IA, will host additional 2018 blood drives with the American Red Cross on
- Tuesday, December 11
- Wednesday, December 26
- Monday, December 31.
Donors who give at the December 11 drive will receive a $5 Amazon gift card via email. Restrictions apply; see amazon.com/gc-legal. More information and details are available at RedCrossBlood.org/Together.
Donors who give on December 26 and December 31 will receive a long-sleeve Red Cross Donor t-shirt, while supplies last.
For drive times and more information, or to make an appointment to donate, simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.
Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U. S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative, and B negative.
