ForeignStudentsCome join us Friday evening, November 23, 2018, for a potluck supper and meet our international college guests, who are visiting Morrison, IL, over the holiday weekend.  This is a wonderful way to meet young students from other Countries.  You do not need language lessons, a passport, or airline tickets.  Just bring a smile and a handshake.

The International Thanksgiving Fellowship Weekend program has been a part of Morrison’s Thanksgiving tradition since the 1960’s and is sponsored by Morrison Rotary Club.

Wednesday, November 21, 11 guests will arrive by bus from different colleges in Chicago, IL.  They will be staying with local families to experience an American holiday.  They leave Sunday afternoon, November 25.

Event organizers Janet Fisher and Carol Hollister invite you to come meet these special guests, on Friday, November 23, during a community potluck dinner.  It will begin at 6:30 p.m.,  in the basement at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 601 N. Jackson Street, in Morrison.

Entrance will be at the backside of the church, where you can take the stairs or elevator to the downstairs Community Room.  Dinner is followed by a candle lighting ceremony, entertainment, and American traditional dances.

Reservations are not needed.  Bring a dish to pass, beverages, and your own table service.

Please call Janet Fisher at 563-249-1414 or Carol Hollister at 815-499-1954 with any questions.  To learn about the International Thanksgiving Fellowship Weekend program go to http://ihouse.uchicago.edu/living/community_building/ and click on Thanksgiving Homestay Program.
