Larry D. Vos, 75, of Morrison, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison.
Larry was born September 25, 1943, in Morrison, IL, to Bert and Sylvia (Housinga) Vos. He was educated in the Erie, IL, grade schools and was a graduate of Erie High School. He married Ellen M. Bruhn on March 1, 1980, in Morrison. Larry first worked for Brands Heating in Morrison. He then was employed in the maintenance department at Morrison Community Hospital, retiring in 2013. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. Larry enjoyed playing cards, and he was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes Fan.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; one daughter, Gina (Kevin) Varner of Clinton, IA; two sons, Scott (Kelli) Vos of Cumming, GA, and Darren (Angela) Vos of Morrison; two stepdaughters, Ginger (Brad) Huston of Burlington, IA, and Holly (Steve) Copeland of Hendrick, IA; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Doris (Dale) Bull of Fulton, IL, and Vera L. Hamstra of Prophetstown, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Zabian Vos.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Mr. Ken Renkes officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2018, at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America has been established.
