Dear Editor:
I am pleased to write this letter in support of Kris Schmidt for Whiteside County Sheriff.
Kris brings nearly three decades of law enforcement experience to the position and has a proven track record as a dedicated public servant.
Since my retirement as State Representative, I have made very few public endorsements of candidates. However, I believe this election is too important to the residents of Whiteside County to remain silent. Whiteside County deserves a Sheriff with integrity, dedication, and a heart for public service, and Kris Schmidt will bring all of those qualities to the Sheriff’s Office.
Being a Sheriff is not just about law enforcement. It is about being a good steward of the taxpayer’s money and having the ability to make difficult financial decisions when necessary. I am confident that Kris Schmidt is the one candidate with the ability to make critical financial decisions and not compromise the safety of Whiteside County’s residents or Deputies.
Please vote for Kris Schmidt for Whiteside County Sheriff on November 6, 2018.
