In 50 days, the General Election will be held, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Morrison Chamber of Commerce and Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce invite the public to meet four candidates, during a Candidate Forum, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. This event for voters of all ages will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Avenue (IL Route 78, south), Morrison, IL. Preselected questions will be asked of the candidates.
Candidates running for 17th District House of Representatives are Republican incumbent Tony McCombie and Democrat Joan Padilla, Executive Director of Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Center. Candidates for Whiteside County Sheriff are Chief Deputy John Booker and Sergeant Kris Schmidt.
