Albany, IL, Police Chief Wyatt Heyvaert submitted the Department Activities and Arrests during August 2018.  Below is the Report.

August 1-5

  • Chief Heyvaert, Sergeant Kernan, and Detective Bogart attended Risk Management Training at the Rockford Police Department.  The class was put on by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and covered legalities for Law Enforcement Officers.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 100-block of N. Church Street regarding an animal complaint.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 200-block of Pheasant Ridge Drive regarding a wildlife complaint.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 1000-block of S. Church Street regarding disorderly conduct/telephone harassment.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 200-block of Pheasant Ridge Drive regarding disorderly conduct/telephone harassment.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 500-block of N. Bluff Street regarding nuisance violations.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 100-block of S. Main Street regarding an assist citizen call for service.
  • Carly Bergerhouse was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Brittany Williams was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 700-block of S. Bluff Street regarding telephone threats, telephone harassment, and disorderly conduct complaints.
  • An Officer conducted follow-up investigation regarding an improperly parked/suspicious vehicle in the 1100-block of S. Main Street (Dolan Park.)  The vehicle was moved from the park.
  • Detective Bogart completed mandatory LEADS Training through the Illinois State Police.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 300-block of N. Church Street regarding a golf cart registration.
  • Mark Leabo was arrested in the 200-block of N. Park Avenue for public intoxication.  Leabo was processed and released with a Village Ordinance Citation.
  • The Police Department sponsored a Movie in the Park for the community.
  • The Police Department participated in the 50th annual Miss Flame Festival.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 500-block of N. Bluff Street regarding a complaint of disorderly conduct.

August 6-12

  • Chief Heyvaert attended the monthly Village of Albany Board Meeting.
  • An Officer was dispatched to Bunge Corp, in the 1000-block of N. Main Street, regarding an alarm at the business.
  • Larry P. Watson was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • Jessica Poore was issued written warnings for improper display of registration, defective windshield, and defective exhaust and a Citation for operating a vehicle while displaying expired Illinois Registration Plates.
  • Carolyn Almberg was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.Stephen Vail was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • Sarah Brown was issued a Citation for unlawful use of an electronic communication device.
  • Dennis Ousley was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 1000-block of Stone Street regarding an assist citizen call for service.
  • Blake A. Tyler was arrested on a valid Whiteside County Arrest Warrant.  Tyler was transported to the Whiteside County Jail in lieu of bond.
  • Tanner Rodig was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Evan Smith was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • Richard Lington was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Tanya Easley was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • An Officer issued a warning for weeds/grass Ordinance violation in the 400-block of 4th Avenue N.
  • An Officer issued a weeds/grass Ordinance violation in the 400-block of S. Main Street.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 200-block of S. Main Street regarding a suspicious person call for service.
  • Richard Dennehey was arrested on a valid Jo Davies Arrest Warrant.  Dennehey was transported to the Whiteside County Jail in lieu of bond.
  • Officers issued warning letters to subjects regarding burning items in the ditches along village roadways.
  • Wyatt Wilkin was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 100-block of River Drive regarding suspicious vehicles.
  • Brennen Mask was issued a written warning for defective muffler-loud exhaust.
  • Jamarae Valdivia was issued a Citation for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Logan Tincher was issued a Citation for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Wayne Vandewall was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 1100-block of S. Main Street regarding a suicidal subject.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 1100-block of S. Main Street regarding a missing/runaway juvenile call for service.
  • Officers completed regular business and vacation security checks throughout the week.

August 13-19

  • An Officer completed follow up investigation in the 300-block of 10th Avenue N.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 100-block of Riverview Drive regarding harassment via telephone/telephone threats.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 13,000-block of Diamond Road (Fulton), to assist the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, with a physical disturbance.
  • An Officer completed follow-up investigation at Erie High School.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department regarding an assist citizen call for service.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 900-block of N. Bluff Street regarding a residential burglary.
  • An Officer completed follow up investigation in the 400-block of S. Main Street.
  • Gerald Houston was issued a village Ordinance Citation for violating the weeds/grass Ordinance.
  • Jason Grant was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Justin VanKampen was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Randal Thomas was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • Jessica Stewart was issued a Citation for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Chief Heyvaert completed a funeral detail on Arsenal Island for retired Moline Police Chief F. Steven Etheridge.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 300-block of 1st Avenue regarding a complaint of wildlife in the area.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 600-block of N. Bluff Street regarding a suspicious subject.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 200-block of S. Main Street regarding the possible unlawful purchase of alcohol by a minor.  The complaint was investigated and deemed to be unfounded.
  • Officers conducted regular business and vacation security checks throughout the week.

August 20-26

  • An Officer was dispatched to the 900-block of N. Bluff Street regarding suspicious persons.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 1100-block of N. Bluff Street regarding a check welfare call for service.
  • Chief Heyvaert attended a seminar covering the Run, Hide, Fight training for school safety in Clinton, IA.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department to assist the Federal Bureau of Personnel with an ongoing investigation.
  • An Officer issued a weeds/grass village Ordinance Citation in the 400-block of S. Main Street.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 300-block of S. Main Street regarding a missing/runaway juvenile.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department to assist Lutheran Social Services and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) with an ongoing investigation.
  • An Officer completed a 48-hour ticket transfer at the Whiteside County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
  • Chief Heyvaert attended a demonstration, regarding a new program for evidence, at the Morrison Police Department.
  • Peter Rastrelli was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Joanna Thiede was issued a Citation for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Connor Altensey was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • Krysta Gray was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • Ayden Ristaue was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • Larry Wall was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 100-block of Riverview Drive regarding suspicious circumstances.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 1200-block of N. Bluff Street regarding a suspicious/improperly parked vehicle.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 200-block of S. Main Street regarding a theft/gas drive off.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 100-block of Riverview Drive regarding found articles.
  • David Roeder was issued a written warning for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Nashion Smith was issued a Citation for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Susan Marsden was issued a Citation for speeding over the posted speed limit.
  • Officers conducted regular business and vacation security checks throughout the week.

August 27-31

  • An Officer conducted follow up investigation at the Erie High School in Erie, IL.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 300-block of 3rd Avenue S. for tree limbs in the roadway.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 200-block of 1st Avenue for tree limbs in the roadway.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 300-block of N. Lime Street regarding power lines down.
  • Detective Bogart completed training in Morison regarding the investigation of child abuse cases.
  • Chief Heyvaert attended a seminar, at the Moline Police Department Community Training Room, regarding news trends in community policing.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 200-block of Pheasant Ridge Drive regarding civil issues.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the area of Meredosia Road and IL Route 84 regarding power lines in the roadway.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the area of IL Route 84 and Van’s Road regarding power lines in the roadway.
  • Jeffrey Brinkman was issued a Citation for speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
  • An Officer was dispatched to the 300-block of N. Bluff Street to assist the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office.
