Editor’s note: Extend the event with a Sunday, September 16, 2018, pancake breakfast/brunch, with the Morrison Wrestling team on Genesee and Main Streets, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Saturday, September 15, 2018, is almost close enough to check the weather map, for making your plans to attend Paint the Town in Morrison, IL. Many of the details are finalized or in the trailing moments of decision time.
The one-of-a-kind event t-shirt design was chosen, and the order was placed. The PTT Committee anticipates artists of all ages to sign up, to show their individual talents on one-or-more of 1700 street squares available.
Food vendors have been accepted and, as usual, great effort was focused on the selection, to maximize the variety for all ages.
- The West Food Court will offer pork chops, hamburgers, and hotdogs (Boy Scouts); Nachos with the Works (Sauk Valley Friends of Ferrells.)
- The Main Food Court menu includes pork chop, ribeye, chicken, and hamburger sandwiches (Wiersema); walking tacos (Morrison Track Team); homemade pies and homemade ice cream (Morrison Historical Society.)
- The East Food Court offers brats, chops, and hot dogs (Kiwanis); ice cream cones (Morrison Pons); shaved ice and drinks (Chill Shack.)
Main Street windows have been assigned to 28 different artists plus the Morrison Junior and Senior High School art classes. In all, over 40 storefront windows will be creatively painted with amazing scenes and designs.
Mark your calendar, and plan to spend September 15 in Morrison:
- Harvest Hammer races begin at 8:00 a.m.
- Color Run at 11:30 a.m.
- Street Painting begins at noon
- Market Street band entertainment at 6:00 p.m.
This will be the Complete Family Day!
