Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, is excited to offer “fine forgiveness” to patrons, during the month of September. Beginning Saturday, September 1, 2018, and running the entire month, patrons may stop into Odell, talk with a staff member, and have all existing overdue fines waived. We recognize that the summer months, as well as the start of a new school year, can be hectic for many. We hope that offering fine forgiveness will give patrons a fresh start, as we dive into Fall. Some exclusions do apply; please ask any library staff member for details.
In addition, September is National Library Card Sign Up Month. Library card holders have access to Odell’s 40,000+ in-house items, as well as thousands more materials from over 130 different area libraries. Looking for digital materials? Over 22,000 ebooks and audiobooks are available for download at Overdrive.com with your Odell library card. Card holders can place requests on materials, renew materials online, and even keep track of their reading history.
Any person residing within the City limits of Morrison is eligible to receive a library card at no charge. A portion of residents’ property taxes are paid to Odell. Those residing outside the City limits do not pay library tax, but may still obtain a library card (rural card) at a fee of $50/year for the household. All prospective patrons are asked to provide a valid photo ID with their current address. Children who have completed Kindergarten may also receive a library card with parental consent.
