Who doesn’t enjoy an intriguing who-done-it? Sherlock Holmes (Alex Rudd) and Dr. Watson (Max Bahneman) discuss mysterious deaths in Timber Lake Playhouse’s production of “Baskerville: The Sherlock Holmes Mystery,” running now through Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Playhouse at 8215 Black Oak Road, in Mount Carroll, IL.
Get your deerstalker cap on; the play’s afoot! Comedic genius Ken Ludwig transforms Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic “The Hound of the Baskervilles” into a murderously funny adventure with Holmes on the case. The male heirs of the Baskerville line are being dispatched one by one. Holmes and Watson must brave the desolate moors, before a family curse dooms its newest heir. Our intrepid investigators try to escape a dizzying web of clues, silly accents, disguises, and deceit, as five actors deftly portray more than 40 characters. Does a wild hellhound prowl the moors of Devonshire? Can our heroes discover the truth in time? Join the fun and see how far from elementary the truth can be.
Baskerville is directed by Chicago director, Kevin Theis, who is making his Timber Lake Playhouse debut. “You may think you have seen Sherlock Holmes, but you have never seen Sherlock Holmes like this,” Theis says. Starring in this production are TLP’s 2018 Resident Acting Company, Alex Rudd (Sherlock), Max Bahneman (Watson), Rebecca Marowitz (Actress One), James Tweedale (Actor One), and Ben Senneff (Actor Two.)
