The City of Morrison Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled the third annual Summer Extravaganza, for Saturday, July 28, 2018, from noon to 9:00 p.m., at the Morrison Sports Complex, 15201 Bishop Road, Morrison, IL. Tournaments, kid-friendly activities, concessions, and a beverage garden will again be a big part of the Summer Extravaganza. Admission to the Complex is free.
New this year are
- a vendor fair from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.
- camps from LeAnn’s Dance Connection with special performances
- a wiffle ball tournament
- after 7:30 p.m., free hot dogs given to the first 500 attendees
- a boy’s and girl’s bike giveaway sponsored by the Friends of the Parks.
A preliminary schedule of events follows.
- 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.: Car and Motorcycle Show with free jambalaya, at Kunes Country Chevrolet of Morrison, 627 E. Lincolnway
- noon to 8:00 p.m.: DJ, Concessions, Beverage Garden, Bags & Wiffle Ball Tournaments (Sign up at quickscores.com.)
- 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Kids’ Activities, Vendor Fair including a “Friends of the Parks” Bike Giveaway
- 7:30 p.m.: Performances by LeAnn’s Dance Connection, Free Hot Dog Giveaway for the first 500 attendees
- 9:00 p.m.: Fireworks (weather permitting.)
