June 2018 Albany Police Report

Editor’s note:  Beginning July 1, 2018, the Albany, IL, Police Department monthly reports will be posted.  Chief of Police Wyatt Heyvaert organizes them chronologically in one list.  Below is the June Activity Report.

June 1-3
1.) Coty A. Mitchell was arrested for Driving While License Revoked, Possession of Methamphetamine over 15 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cannabis over 30 grams, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon Without Having an Illinois Firearms Owner Identification Card, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Firearms Ammunition by a Felon, and Unlawful Possession of Firearms Ammunition Without Having an Illinois Firearms Owner Identification Card. He was remanded at the Whiteside County Jail to await his initial court appearance.
2.) An Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of 5th Avenue S. to assist the Albany Ambulance with a medical assist.
3.) Richard Yates was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
4.) Officers completed regular business and vacation Security Checks throughout the week.

June 4-10
1. Chief Heyvaert met with Superintendent Darryl Hogue regarding the Fulton High School Community Involvement Program.
2. Sergeant Kernan and Chief Heyvaert both attended felony preliminary hearings at the Whiteside County Justice Center.
3. An Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Main Street to assist the Albany Ambulance with a medical call.
4. Chief Heyvaert attended a meeting in Fulton, IL, regarding evidence related issues.
5. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of 1st Avenue to remove and unwanted subject.
6. An Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of N. Main Street regarding a personal injury multi-vehicle accident.
7. An Officer completed follow-up investigation in the 1400-block of 9th Avenue of Fulton.
8. An Officer completed follow-up investigation in the 600-block of 18th Avenue in Fulton.
9. An Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of 16th Avenue PL. in Fulton to assist their Police Department with a call regarding other mental cases.
10. An Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Church Street regarding an animal complaint.
11. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Lime Street regarding a check welfare call for service.
12. An Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of 10th Avenue North regarding a report of criminal damage to property.
13. An Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of N. Bluff Street regarding a residential burglary.
14. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Sycamore Street regarding a report of deceptive practices.
15. Chief Heyvaert completed follow-up investigation at the Whiteside County States Attorney’s Office.
16. Chief Heyvaert completed follow-up investigation at the Whiteside County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
17. An Officer completed follow-up investigation in the 1400-block of 9th Avenue in Fulton.
18. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Sycamore Street for an attempt to locate/deliver message call for service.
19. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Sycamore Street regarding a standby to prevent disturbance.
20. Officers transported and completed follow-up investigation at the Illinois State Police Forensic Crime Lab in Rockford, IL.
21. Jeffrey Firch was issued a citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
22. An Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of N. Bluff Street regarding wire down on the roadway.
23. An Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of N. Bluff Street, to assist public works with traffic control.
24. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Sycamore Street regarding suspicious subjects.
25. An Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of 10th Avenue S. regarding a neighbor dispute.
26. Officers completed regular business and vacation Security Checks throughout the week.

June 11-17
1. Chief Heyvaert and Sergeant Kernan attended the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the April House Children’s Advocacy Center in Morrison, IL.
2. Chief Heyvaert and Sergeant Kernan participated in a felony preliminary hearing at the Whiteside County Justice Building.
3. Craig Robinson was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
4. Kelsey Rice was issued a citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
5. Benjamin S. Rosen was issued a citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
6. Chief Heyvaert attended a meeting at the Fulton Police Department.
7. Chief Heyvaert participated in two bench trials at the Whiteside County Justice Building.
8. An Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Church Street and 1st Avenue regarding an animal complaint.
9. Molly Mayfield was issued a citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
10. Leonard Smith III was issued a citation for Speeding 20-30 mph above the posted speed limit.
11. Chief Heyvaert attended a meeting with Rock Island County Emergency Management Services, at the Incident Command Center, at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, IL.
12. An Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of S. Church Street regarding an animal complaint.
13. An Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of 9th Avenue S. regarding an animal complaint.
14. An Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Bluff Street regarding a stolen ATV report.
15. Chief Heyvaert transported citations to the Whiteside County Circuit Clerk’s Office to comply with the 48-hour ticket rule.
16. An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department to speak with the victim of scams.
17. An Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Riverview Drive regarding a nuisance complaint.
18. An Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Meredosia and Stropes Road, to assist the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, with a roll-over traffic accident.
19. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Sycamore Street regarding a standby to prevent disturbance.
20. An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department to speak with a victim of a theft report.
21. An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department regarding civil issues.
22. Anthony Jacobs was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
23. Casey Ray was issued a citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
24. Kelsey Dewalsche was issued a citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
25. Tyler Steele was issued a citation for Speeding 20-30 mph above the posted speed limit.

5. Lisa Somers was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
6. William Pendler was issued a State citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.

9. An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department regarding an assist citizen call for service.
10. Kennady Walters was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
11. Jason Nave was issued a written warning for Operating a Vehicle Without Illinois Registration.
12. An Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Church Street regarding an assist medical call for service.
13. Corey J. Lindbeck was issued a State citation for Speeding 20-30 mph above the posted speed limit.
14. Daniel D. Henningsen was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
15. Utkarsh Doshi was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
16. Ian A. Covington was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
17. Chief Heyvaert attended the Quad City Council of Chief’s of Police meeting in Davenport.

19. Keegan A. Loftquist was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
20. Terry L. Solomon was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
21. Christopher Cusumano was issued a Village ordinance citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
22. Karen S. Larke was issued a State citation for Unlawful Use of an Electronic Communication Device.
23. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of 1st Avenue regarding follow-up investigation.
24. Chief Heyvaert attended TRIAD Training in Elgin, IL. TRIAD is a partnership which involves Senior Citizens, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Support from local commerce.
25. An Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of S. Main Street regarding found articles.
26. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of 1st Avenue regarding an attempted burglary to residence.
27. Jessica Lund was issued a State citation for Speeding 20-30 mph above the posted speed limit.
28. Chad Osborn was issued a State citation for Speeding 30 mph above the posted speed limit. He was released on a Notice to Appear with a mandatory court appearance.
29. Tricia Randeckee was issued a Village ordinance citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
30. An Officer was dispatched to the Route 30 (South) Bridge to assist the Clinton, IA, and Fulton Police Departments with a suicidal subject.
31. An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department regarding a burglary report.
32. Officers completed regular business and vacation Security Checks throughout the week.

June 25-30
1. An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department to meet with a subject who had questions on the carry and conceal laws.
2. An Officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of Stone Street regarding an attempted burglary.
3. Chief Heyvaert met with a representative from the Illinois Standards and Training Board regarding new State mandates.
4. An Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Bluff Street regarding an assist citizen call for service.
5. An Officer was dispatched to the intersection of IL. Route 84 and 10th Avenue in Fulton, to assist their Police Department with a personal injury traffic accident.
6. Elmer Jenkins was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
7. Dustin Reed was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
8. Chief Heyvaert attended a ceremony in Geneseo, IL, with the Quad City Council of Chiefs of Police.
9. Gary Buikema was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
10. Kearra Kohrt was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
11. An Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Church Street regarding an animal complaint.
12. Gerald Houston was issued two Village ordinance citations for Dog Running at Large.
13. Allison Jo Green was issued a Village ordinance citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
14. Bill D. Nelson was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
15. Mary Frances-Yerkes was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
16. James E. Purcel was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
17. Benjamin T. Weyrick was issued a State citation for Unlawful Use of an Electronic Communication Device.

22. Kalina Reed was issued a written warning for Disobeyed Stop Sign.
23. Ronald Capone was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
24. Lindsay Thornton was issued a written warning for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
25. Ivan Streit was issued a written warning for Unlawful Use of an Electronic Communication Device and a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
26. Cathy Hamilton-Nichols was issued a State citation for Speeding 15-20 mph above the posted speed limit.
27. Blake A. Tyler was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was transported to the Police Department for processing. Tyler was released on a Notice to Appear with a mandatory court appearance on August 9, 2018, at 9:00 a.m.
28. Chief Heyvaert transported citations to the Whiteside County Circuit Clerks Office per the 48-hour ticket rule.
29. Detective Bogart sent out seven warning letters regarding unpaid Village ordinance citations.
30. Officers completed regular business and vacation Security Checks throughout the week.
31. James Schomburg was issued a written warning for Unlawful Use of an Electronic Communication Device.
32. Michael L. Vartsmeier was issued a State citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
33. Nancy Ledbetter was issued a State citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
34. Luke Aunan was issued a State citation for Speeding over the posted speed limit.
35. An Officer was dispatched to the Police Department to meet with a victim regarding a theft report.
36. An Officer was dispatched to the Albany Marina, to assist the Illinois State Conservation Police, with a boater-in-distress call for service.
