The local Bethesda Blaze Relay For Life Team of the American Cancer Society would like to thank all who supported their fundraising events this past year. Whether you came to one of the breakfasts at DQ Grill & Chill, attended their Scotch Doubles Bowling event, donated to or purchased something at the Silent Auction, you helped make a difference in the fight against cancer!
The 23rd Whiteside County Relay For Life was a wonderful event, with over $124,214.78 collected for the fight against cancer. Bethesda Blaze is proud to report that as of Tuesday, June 26, 2018, the team has raised $11,051 in the fight against cancer and placed 3rd (out of 17 teams registering.) This makes the team one of the top 3 teams for the 11th consecutive year!
Andrea Dalton ($1145) and Kathy Janicek ($1000) also received “Grand Club” award status for collecting $1000. The team began participating in the event in 2001 and has raised over $137,000 in the past 18 years. Bethesda Blaze could not have done this without the continued support of the community, Bethesda Lutheran Church family, and friends.
Blaze will take a few months off but will begin fundraising this fall. The team is always looking for new members, so please consider joining–they would love to have you! You may be as involved as you choose to be; there are no requirements of your time. Please feel free to contact any of the team members or Bethesda Lutheran Church if you have questions or wish to join the group in their fight against this awful disease.
With sincere thanks and appreciation for your support,
Bethesda Blaze Relay For Life Team
