ruth tenboerRuth E. Tenboer, 82, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Resthave Home in Morrison.

Ruth was born September 21, 1935, in Morrison, to Anthony and Josephine (Norman) Prins. She was educated in the Fulton Christian Grade School and was a 1953 graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. Ruth married Wayne E. “Whitey” Tenboer on March 5, 1954, in Fulton. He died December 27, 2004. Ruth farmed with her husband Whitey in the Morrison area for many years and then moved to Morrison in 1988. She later was employed as a secretary by Resthave Home for 28 years. Ruth was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church and was active in many of the church’s ministries. In her retirement, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, walking, reading, and artistic painting. She was a longtime volunteer at Resthave Home and greatly enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia (Chris) Zemko of Elgin, IL; three sons, Loren (Connie) Tenboer of Morrison; Kelvin (Sara) Tenboer of Morrison; Alan (Sally) Tenboer of Racine, WI; nine grandchildren, Tyler Zemko, Katie Tenboer, Kerrie Tenboer, Andrew (Caroline) Tenboer, Kelly (Bob) Gosch, Kayla (Evan) Sipes, Anthony Tenboer, Kyle Tenboer, and Kayleigh Tenboer; three great-grandchildren, Lily Willett, Rosalee Tenboer, and Evelyn Gosch; one sister, Wilma Tiesman of Leesburg, FL; two step-sisters, Dorie (Bob) Huddleston and Katie (Bob) Byczek both of New London, IA.

Besides her husband, Whitey, she was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Marilynn Prins; one brother, Larry Prins.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Ken Renkes officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2018, at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials have been established to Ebenezer Reformed Church and Resthave Home.
