The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Merit Commission is accepting applications for a 9-1-1 Dispatcher, with positions in Morrison, and Sterling, IL. Applications will be accepted through Monday, June 25, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. Starting pay is $17 per hour.
Applications can be picked up in person at the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center, 400 N. Cherry Street, Morrison, IL, or printed from the website www.whiteside.org under “Documents & Forms.” Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Applicants must have or pass the following requirements:
- be at least 21 years of age at time of application and provide proof of birth date with application
- earned a High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- have at least 20/50 binocular vision without glasses, correctable to 20/20 with glasses, and shall not be color blind
- pass physical examination; background check, which will include polygraph and psychological examination; drug screening.
Education, expertise, and skills will be considered in screening the application for testing. The testing for the list will be as follows: written test. (Credit given for military service if copy of DD214 form is provided at time of application.)
