David E. Douglass, 77, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, June 7, 2018, at his home.
David was born August 12, 1940, in Davenport, IA, the son of William and Ethel (Alger) Douglass . He married Phyllis (Wilson) Douglass on May 12, 1988, in Las Vegas, NV. David worked as a Heavy Crane Operator at Northwestern Steel & Wire for 40 years. He retired in 1998. He was a man who was a provider in every sense of the word. He enjoyed watching golf, attending air shows, and horseback riding.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Morrison; three daughters, Rebecca Douglass of Sterling, IL, Vickie (Tim) Schmitt of Harmon, IL, and Tracy (Ryan) Camps of Sterling; two sons, David Scott (Christy Brinkmeier) Douglass of Sterling and Brant (Chariti) Douglass of Sterling; two step-daughters, Kim Straight and Kris (Randy) Muur; one step-son, Scott (Beth) Wollam; one sister, Billie Simms of Mascoutah, IL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Douglass; one sister, Karen Villa; one grandson, Dawson Camps.
The funeral is at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling, IL, with Pastor Jeff Coester officiating.
Burial is at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.
Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, Sterling, IL.
