James C. Wright, 90, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at his home.
Jim was born August 20, 1927, in Campbellsville, KY, to Bud and Alice (Phillips) Wright. He was educated in the Campbellsville schools. Jim married Arlene B. Weltzin on June 19, 1949, in Stockton, IL. He was employed at Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL, for 19 years in the maintenance department. Jim was a member of First Baptist Church in Morrison, where he served as an usher. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in his yard and garden. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; one daughter, Sally (Leroy) Oudekerk of Morrison; three sons, Jim (Regina) Wright, LeRoy (Mary Kay) Wright, and Steve (Janet) Wright all of Morrison; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Dale Wright in infancy; one granddaughter, Ashton Wright; one grandson, Chris Wright; two sisters; two brothers.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Morrison, IL, with visitation from 9:30 a.m., until the time of the service. Rev. Dick Adams, Pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial to First Baptist Church has been established.
