Phyllis J. Dornon, 75, of Resthave Home in Morrison, IL, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at the nursing home.
Phyllis was born March 19, 1943, in Moline, IL, to Eugene A. and Elvira V. (Eickhoff) Albert. She was educated in the Rock Island, IL, grade schools and was a 1961 graduate of Riverdale High School in Port Byron, IL. In 1978 she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Record Administration from the College of St. Mary’s in Omaha, NE. Phyllis was employed by Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, from 1978 to 1986; Graham Hospital in Canton, IL, from 1987 to 1997; Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL, from 1997 to 1999, and lastly, at Morrison Community Hospital from 1999 to 2001. She then retired to care for her father and sister until their deaths. She was a member of the Morrison Wa-Tan-Ye, was an avid reader, enjoyed working puzzles of all kinds, doing cross-stitch needlework and gardening. She volunteered at Morrison Community Hospital with the “Cookie Cart” and in the surgery waiting room. She also volunteered at Resthave and Pleasant View Nursing Homes in Morrison, playing Bunco with the residents.
Survivors include her aunt, Virginia (Louis) Krajnovich, and uncle, Donald Albert, both of Port Byron, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nancy Albert.
Cremation rites will be accorded; there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Point Cemetery in Port Byron, IL.
