The Savanna-Sabula Bridge Celebration Planners released a new parade entry form this week, that is intended for groups or individuals who wish to participate in the upcoming Veterans Parade. It will take place on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., in Savanna, IL.
The planners encourage businesses, civic organizations, veteran’s groups, reunion classes, and school groups from Savanna, as well as surrounding communities, to participate in this historic event. Individual participants are also welcome, especially veterans.
To obtain a Veterans Parade Entry Form call 815-666-7598, or email dengaldo@yahoo.com. You can also pick up a form at Manny’s Pizza. Filling out an Entry Form will help expedite contact between participants and planners, in addition to facilitating parade staging and coordination.
Senator Tammy Duckworth, a former veteran, and Congresswoman Cheri Bustos have both been invited to lead the Veterans Parade. Several other political and veteran dignitaries, along with a large contingent of veterans from both sides of the Mississippi River will be participating in the parade.
Planners are trying to locate convertible owners who would be willing to provide rides for some of the dignitaries and veterans who will be taking part in the parade. Convertible owners who are willing to provide a ride in the parade may contact the number or email listed above.
Dave Engaldo, the group’s leader, indicated that although planning efforts are going well, additional support would help to spread the load more broadly and be greatly appreciated.
