Dolores M. Daley, 92, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice Home in Bettendorf, IA.
Dolores was born April 13, 1926, in Fulton, to Elmer R. and Bessie (Ridenour) Reckard. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. She married Glen J. Swemline on February 15, 1948, in Clinton, IA. He died September 12, 1994. On August 12, 2000, she married Robert G. Daley in Machesney Park, IL.
Dolores as employed as a telephone operator and then worked at General Electric Co. in Morrison, IL. Then for many years she managed, along with her brother Elmer “Bud” Reckard, Bud’s Foodliner in Fulton. Dolores loved embroidery. She enjoyed being outdoors, especially flower gardening. One of her greatest loves was helping and working alongside her husband, Robert.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; one daughter, Julie (Raymond) Blasdell of Fulton; two sons, Randy Swemline of Morrison and Loren Swemline of Machesney Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Glen; two sisters, Charlotte and Anna Reckard; one brother, Elmer “Bud” Reckard.
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family and close friends, with Ken Renkes officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL.
The family requests to have no memorial donations given.
