The Whiteside County Highway Department announces two road closings beginning in May 2018, in order for Civil Constructors, of Freeport, IL, to make repairs. The Highway Department thanks the public for their patience during construction, while roads are closed.
Beginning Monday, May 7, Black Road, from Fenton Road to one-half mile east of Fenton Road, will be closed to through traffic. It is estimated to remain closed until October 2018, to allow construction of a new bridge.
The closure is necessary to allow removal and replacement of the bridge deck of the drainage ditch and removal of the existing bridge over Rock Creek.
From Friday, May 18, to Friday, May 25, Emerson Road, from U. S. Route 30 to Hazel Road, will be closed temporarily to through traffic, during daytime hours. The road will remain open to two-lane traffic overnight.
The closure is necessary to allow removal and replacement of existing Pipe Culverts under Emerson Road.
