Timber Lake Playhouse will hold auditions for the all-area teen production of “Disney’s High School Musical” on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 6, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Auditions will be held at the theatre, 8215 Black Oak Road, south of Mt. Carroll, IL. “Disney’s High School Musical” will be performed Wednesday, July 9, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m.; Sunday, July 13, at 2:00 p.m.; Monday, July 14, at 2:00 p.m.
Get ready to audition for one of the Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians, or Skater Dudes. You will tell the story of the basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, as he discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical…and you know the rest of the story!
Performers are asked to prepare a song to sing with an accompanist (no more than 32 bars.) Songs from the show or in the style of the show are encouraged. Bring sheet music for the accompanist, as no one will be allowed to sing without an accompaniment. You may be asked to read from a script of the show and attend a dance call as a part of your audition. Visit our website for specific audition requirements for each role.
