Effective immediately CGH Medical Center is lifting temporary visitor’s restrictions put in place to guard against the flu.
For the safety of patients and staff over the last couple of months, the hospital has limited patient visits to two visitors per patient at one time, and only visitors who are at least 18 years of age. With flu cases on the decline, the general restrictions are no longer necessary.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while these temporary restrictions were in place,” said Dr. Paul Steinke, CGH President and CEO.
While we believe these efforts helped to reduce transmission of respiratory illnesses during a period of hightened flu activity, we ask that you continue to follow these precautions to help stop the spread of germs that make you and others sick:
- get vaccinated
- stay home if you are sick
- wash your hands frequently
- use soap and warm water; if not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- cover your cough, and sneeze with a tissue; if you don’t have a tissue, use your upper sleeve or elbow, not your hands.
