Andrew C. Kallas, age 65, of Dixon, IL, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Andrew was born May 12, 1952, in Dixon, the son of Christ and Violet (Giannetto) Kallas. He served in the U. S. Army. Career positions included Mainline Railroad crew leader, Dixon Park District Director, Heartland Cable and Wireless Regional Manager, and most recently a substitute Teacher. He married Jennifer Lane Lee on September 23, 2005, in Dixon. Andrew enjoyed playing football, basketball, tennis, and golf, and also remodeling his home.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Lane Kallas of Dixon; his mother, Violet Kastner of Dixon; two daughters, Sunshine (John Flores) Kallas of Chicago, IL, and Rachel Kallas of Nashville, TN; one son, Kurt (Margie) Clevenger of Sterling; eight sisters, Georgia Kallas of Dixon, Diane (Mark) Cornwell of Dixon, Jeanette Parker of FL, Glenda (Cris) Owoc of Milton, FL, Christine Kallas, Helen McMahon, Kathy Kallas, and Toni Ann Gulley; four brothers, Anthony (Minh Chau) Kallas of MS, Karl Kastner of Tampa, FL, Dennis (Carrie) Kallas of Elgin, IL, and Christ Kallas of Elk Grove, IL; one stepbrother, Gary Starnes; two grandchildren, Breanna Clevenger of Naperville, IL, and Kurtis Clevenger of Sterling, IL; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Christ Kallas; one brother, Dennis Kallas; his stepfather, Glenn Kastner.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
A memorial service with military honors will immediately follow, starting at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.
