Illinois State Police District 1 Commander Carl Heintz has announced District 1 enforcement figures and activity for February 2018.
Illinois State Police District 1 Troopers issued 312 citations, 331 written warnings, and made 11 criminal arrests during the month.
- Speeding accounted for 145 citations.
- Occupant restraint violations accounted for 40 citations.
- Distracted driving violations accounted for 13 citations.
Troopers investigated 28 traffic crashes, assisted 124 motorists, and conducted 108 commercial vehicle inspections–12 of which were placed out-of-service for safety reasons. There were four arrests made for Driving Under the Influence.
District 1, which encompasses Carroll, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside Counties, had no traffic crash fatality in February.
