These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

2-28-18 at 8:42 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a crash where the driver fled the scene.  After further investigation, Kevin L. Benck, age 25 of Morrison, IL, was arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash, Driving While License Suspended, Too Fast for Conditions, and an outstanding Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Appear.  After being taken into custody, Benck was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was able to post bond and was released with a Notice to Appear.

2-28-18 at 3:40 p.m.  A Whiteside County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on E. Lincolnway near the Lynn Boulevard intersection in Sterling, IL.  During the investigation of the stop, Roland V. Hill, age 24, of Lyndon, IL, was arrested on an active Whiteside County Warrant for Failure to Pay or Appear on the charge of Possession of Controlled Substance.  Hill eventually posted the required bond and was released.  Assisting on scene was the Sterling Police Department along with Slim-N-Hank’s Towing.

2-28-18 at 5:25 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Sterling, IL.  Upon further investigation, Melvin G. Harris, age 28 of Sterling, was arrested for an outstanding Failure to Appear Whiteside County Warrant for Aggravated Assault.  Harris was able to post bond and was released on scene.

3-01-18 at 10:49 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a personal injury crash on IL Route 78 west of Lyndon, IL, involving two vehicles.  A vehicle driven by Alzada G. Wachholz, age 84, of Prophetstown, IL, was northbound on IL Route 78 turning westbound, when she failed to yield to the eastbound vehicle driven by Cody C. Schroeder, age 25, of Fenton, IL.  Alzada was transported to CGH Medical Center by Prophetstown EMS for treatment and/or observation.  A citation is pending for Alzada for Failure to Yield-Stop Intersection.  Prophetstown/Lyndon Fire, Prophetstown Police, Todd’s Towing, and Rick’s Towing all assisted on scene.

3-01-18 at 2:44 p.m.  Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries on Garden Plain Road, rural Morrison, IL.  A vehicle driven by Alexandra C. Schuldt, age 20 of Rock Falls, IL, was backing from a private drive, when she failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle driven by Tanner W. Davis, age 22 of Sterling, IL.  A citation is pending for Alexandra for Improper Backing.
