AustraliaTake a virtual journey to the smallest of seven continents–Australia–accompanied by two, experienced, travel guides.  You won’t need to fly for 20 hours to get there.

On Tuesday evening, March 13, 2018, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Jim and Janet Winslow will take us on their four-month journey to Australia via a PowerPoint presentation.  The program is sponsored by Friends of Odell Public Library as a part of their Lifelong Learning Series.

Their travelogue will be presented in the Program Room of Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL.

Leaving home on January 23, 2017, the Winslows returned home on May 19.  Their extended trip included a stop in Hawaii, Bora Bora, Tahiti, and New Zealand.  However, the majority of the trip was spent in Australia.

After renting a car in Sydney, they began a 2759 mile journey across the Great Dividing Range.  Later, they boarded a cruise ship to the Great Barrier Reef and snorkeled several times.

Another portion of their extensive trip included Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road, and the famous Twelve Apostles.

After covering 3880 miles, they returned to Sydney and explored the magnificent city.

They returned home by cruise ship to Seattle, WA, and then aboard Amtrak train.

This promises to be an exciting travelogue on the great island of Australia!
