“Think of the perfect crime…and then go one step further.” The Black Box Theatre, 1623 5th Avenue, Moline, IL, opens its new season with “Sleuth.” Starring Phillip Dunbridge, left, and Pat Flahrety, right, the run opens Saturday, January 27, and continues through Sunday, February 11, 2018. “Sleuth,” by Anthony Shaffer, was the winner of the Tony® and Drama Critics Circle Awards for Best Play. Featured are Alec Cawthorne, John Matthews, Eve Channing, and Teddy Martin.
“Sleuth” was first presented at The Music Box in New York City, NY, on November 12, 1970. It has been described as “the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse… played out in a cozy, English country house, owned by celebrated mystery writer Andrew Wyke. Invited guest Milo Tindle, a young rival, who shares not only Wyke’s love of the game but also his wife, has come to lay claim. Revenge is devised, and murders [are] plotted, as the two plan the ultimate whodunnit.”
