The friends of Odell Public Library will offer a program on Healthier Nutrition and Eating Habits on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Odell Public Library, 307 S Madison Street, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Program Room. John Park, a Registered Dietitian from Sterling Community General Hospital, will give information and tips to help develop healthier habits for 2018.
Good health and nutrition are essential at every stage of life, and the lifestyle choices that we make every day have a lasting impact on our overall health and wellbeing. Poor nutrition can contribute to everyday stress, tiredness, and our ability to work effectively.
According to the United States Bureau of Disease Collaborators, dietary intake was identified as one of the leading contributors to premature death, along with other lifestyle factors. Several of the leading causes of death in the United States today include:
- heart disease,
- diabetes, and
- cancer.
Each of these diseases has a strong positive correlation with nutrition. Following a healthy meal plan can prevent disease and/or significantly reduce the risk.
These are several of the important reasons to not hesitate, but work towards making healthy changes today. Mr. Park will use a Power Point Presentation to disperse information and healthy eating tips. There is no charge for the program.
