The Volunteer Millers at de Immigrant Windmill will host several students from the Fulton High Speech Team on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., at the Windmill Cultural Center. This revue will allow an additional performance session for the local youth. The public is encouraged to come enjoy the talents of these young people; showing support for these developing skills.
Students presenting their top performances include Sophomore Brennan Bly, (far right) son of Sherri and Shawn Bly, and Sophomore Alexis Bueno, daughter of Buddy and Stacy Bueno. Seniors, and Co-Captains of the FHS Speech Team are Tim Outzen and Matt Outzen, sons of Robert and Lisa Outzen. All have qualified for final rounds during this year’s seasonal competitions.
A variety of categories are open to student performances:
- impromptu speaking
- oratorical declamation
- original comedy
- radio speaking
- extemporaneous speaking
- informative speaking
- special occasion speaking.
The FHS Speech Team is coached by Allison Phillips, a former graduate of Fulton High School.
All monthly sponsored programming is held at the Windmill Cultural Center, at 111 Tenth Avenue, in downtown Fulton, IL, across from the authentic Dutch windmill. This event is free and open to the public. The facility is accessible to persons with disabilities. Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.
