Illinois State Police District 1 Troopers issued 279 Citations, wrote 280 Warnings, and made 15 Criminal Arrests during the month. Speeding accounted for 188 citations. Eight citations were issued for Occupant Restraint violations. Eight citations were issued for Distracted Driving violations.
Troopers investigated 20 traffic crashes, assisted 78 motorists, and conducted 93 commercial vehicle inspections, six of which were placed out-of service for safety reasons.
There were six arrests made for Driving Under the Influence.
District 1, which encompasses Carroll, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside Counties, had three traffic crash fatalities in December.
