Robert “Heusie” W. Heusinkveld, 83, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.
Robert was born September 11, 1934, in Morrison to Alvin and Alice (Decker) Heusinkveld. He was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a 1953 graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison. Robert married Joan DeWeerdt on March 11, 1954, in Fulton, IL. Heusie owned and operated the Shell gas station in Morrison. He was then employed by Climco Coils in Morrison and drove a semi truck for Don Hook. Heusie retired from General Electric in Morrison in 1989. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, and he also enjoyed bowling and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; one daughter, Cindy (Richard) Wolf of Erie, IL; two sons, Gary (Deb) Heusinkveld of Morrison and Jon (Linda Brandon) Heusinkveld of Morrison; six grandchildren, Michael (Carolyne) Wolf, Matthew (Samantha) Wolf, Amanda (Michael) Tummillo, Adam, Cassandra, and Megan Heusinkveld; five great- grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn VanOosten of Erie and Maisie (Phillip) Renkes of Morrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Aaron Wolf; one great-grandson, Ethan Wolf.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2017, at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL
CO-OFFICIATING: Rev. Gerald Norman and Mr. Ken Renkes
VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
