The Illinois State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on December 21, 2017, at 5:07 p.m., on I-39 southbound, at milepost 89 in Lee County. A 2005 Nissan minivan driven by Joseph L. Clark, 23 of Chicago, IL, was traveling southbound on I-39, when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times. The driver, Clark, was ejected from the vehicle. Clark was transported to Rochelle, IL, Community Hospital by the Shabbona Community Ambulance Service, where he later died of his injuries.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois Conservation Police, and the Shabbona Fire Department assisted at the scene.
