Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a new telephone scam. The scam report to Deputies indicated a person received a telephone call from someone attempting to obtain the last four numbers on their credit card. The caller stated they were trying to lower the interest rate on the person’s credit card. The calling person has the first 12 numbers on the credit card but is making several attempts to obtain the last four numbers.
Lieutenant John Booker warns the citizens of Whiteside County, IL, to never give out any personal information.
