Emmanuel Reformed YEAH 2018 Daytrip Schedule

TourBusSeatsThe Young and Energetic At Heart (YEAH) senior group of Emmanuel Reformed Church has released its 2018 schedule of day trips.  All seniors aged 55 and older are cordially invited to join in these trips, regardless of church affiliation.  Please contact the church office at 815-772-3890 for more information or to sign up.

Trips are requested to be paid in full 30 days in advance of the trip.  Such trips sell out, so sign up is taken on a first come, first served basis.

The first day trip will be to Circa 21 Dinner Theatre on Wednesday, April 18, to see the newest Church Basement Ladies musical, “Rise Up O Men.”  This is a matinee performance with a served lunch.  The bus departs from Emmanuel at 10:45 a.m. sharp and returns at approximately 5:30 p.m.  Cost is $75 which includes motor coach, luncheon, musical, dessert of choice, and driver’s tip.

On Wednesday, May 23, the group will travel north to Ft. Atkinson, WI, to the Fireside Theatre to see the Collingsworth Family in concert.  Following a delicious chicken and fish buffet, an inspiring concert by the Collingsworth Family will provide award winning vocal and instrumental music.  The Collingsworth Family is in high demand for their concerts and has won numerous rewards and honors throughout the gospel industry.  The bus departs at 7:30 a.m. and arrives back at Emmanuel at approximately 6:30 p.m.  Cost is $84 which includes motor coach, buffet, concert, and drivers tip.

The YEAH Mini-trip will be from Monday, August 6, through Thursday, August 9, when the group travels to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter, in northern Kentucky.  Monday  will be a travel day; the group will go to Florence, KY, a suburb of Cincinnati, OH, where they will stay at the Hyatt Place Hotel for their three-night adventure.  On Tuesday the group will spend the day at Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY, where they will venture through Biblical history, stunning exhibits, botanical gardens, planetarium, petting zoo and much more.  That evening a sunset dinner cruise will be enjoyed on the Belle of Cincinnati.  On Wednesday, the group will head 30 minutes the opposite direction to experience the Ark Encounter.  It features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to dimensions in the Bible.  Spanning 510 feet long, 85-feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors of all ages.  Ark Encounter is the largest timber frame structure in the world, built from standing dead timber, in part by skilled Amish craftsmen.  The Ark contains three decks of world-class exhibits.  Thursday is a travel day, arriving in Morrison by 5:00 p.m.  Cost for this four-day trip is $600 including hotel, motor coach, admissions, all meals, and activities.  This trip is selling out quickly, so do not delay in signing up.

Tuesday, September 18, is a Mystery Trip; all details are kept secret.  Times of departure will be announced at a later date, but this trip will include a light breakfast and a delicious lunch.  Price is $75, which includes everything needed for a fun day of mystery!

Wednesday, October 10, the group returns to Circa 21 for the hilarious race against the clock, “Mama Won’t Fly!”  This musical begins when a faithful daughter tries to get her feisty mother all the way from Alabama to California, in time for her brother’s wedding.  The problem is Mama won’t fly!  Adding to this crazy equation is the arrival of the future daughter-in-law to join them for the trip, and all chaos ensues.  Also a matinee performance, the bus once departs at 10:45 a.m. and returns around 5:30 p.m.  Price is $75, including motor coach, show, plated luncheon, choice of dessert, and driver’s tip.

The final day trip will be Saturday, December 1, to Chicago, IL, to experience Moody College and Church’s “Wonders of Christmas” candlelight concert.  Departing at 9:30 a.m. and returning around 9:00 p.m., this trip includes an amazing concert in historic Moody Church, a drive through the Chicago Christmas lights, and dinner on the way home.  Cost is $89, which includes motor coach, concert ticket, dinner en route home, and all tips.
