The Rotary Club-sponsored Harvest Hammer 5K/Duathlon, children’s races, and Color Run will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Online registration is in place. Race Day registration opens at 7:00 a.m. for shirt/bib/chip pick-up at Morrison High School cafeteria, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL.
All events start in front of Morrison High School. GPS users please use “Academic Drive” for your location, as Genesee Avenue will be blocked to vehicles. Park on Academic Drive and behind Southside School on the playground.
Children’s Races Participants receive a Harvest Hammer t-shirt and blue participation ribbon. Awards for top boy and girl in each race.
8:15–1/3 Mile Wee Run (reserved for children Pre-K – 2)
8:30–1/2 Mile Fun Run (especially for 2nd through 5th Graders)
8:30–1 Mile Challenge Run (especially for 5th through 8th graders)
Adult Races Awards overall and three deep by age group.
9:00–5K Run/Duathlon The course is a 3.1 mile run out and back to start. Then enjoy a 21-mile bike on another route out and back. You must be 14 years or older and wear an ANSI helmet to participate in the Duathlon.
The Color Run is free to all Hammer participants. Open to all ages, the fee is $12 for non-Hammer participants and includes a Hammer t-shirt. Sign up on-line. The Color Run begins at 11:30 at Morrison High School. The course is six-tenths of a mile, north to the railroad tracks. Colored powder will be tossed or thrown at you, as you make your way to the finish. There are no prizes, because everyone wins a darn good time!
