Bethesda Blaze-Relay For Life Team of Bethesda Lutheran Church, 301 W. South Street, Morrison, IL, would like to thank all who supported their fundraising events this past year. Whether you came to one of the breakfasts at DQ Grill & Chill, attended the Scotch Doubles Bowling event, purchased something at the Silent Auction, or made a personal donation, you helped make a difference in the fight against cancer. The team would also like to thank all of the local businesses that supported the team with their donations. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society in their fight against all forms of cancer.
The 2017 Whiteside County Relay For Life was held on Saturday, June 3, at Hinder’s Field in Rock Falls, IL. The event raised over $105,555 for the American Cancer Society!
Bethesda Blaze is proud to report that the team raised $13,642 (the best year yet) in their fight against cancer. The group placed first out of 18 teams registering. This makes the team one of the top three teams for the 11th consecutive year! Alicia Burkholder ($2375) and Andrea Dalton ($1575) also received “Grand Club” award status, for collecting more than $1000 each. The team could not have done this without the public’s continued support.
The team will take a few months off but will begin fundraising again this fall. They are always looking for new team members, so please consider joining the team. We would love to have you. You may become as involved as you choose to be. There are no requirements of your time. Team members do not need to be a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church. Please feel free to contact a team member, if you have questions or wish to join the group in their fight against this awful disease.
With sincere thanks and appreciation for your support,
Team members include Captain Alicia Burkholder, Mary Ellen Brackemyer, Jennifer Chambers, Andrea Dalton, Marsha Geerts, Jacki Gorzny, Kathy Janicek, Amber Rolland, Nancy Usterbowski, and Tammy Wollesen.
