7-15-17 at 4:23 p.m.  Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Rock Falls Fire, Sterling Fire, and CGH EMS were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on IL Route 40 just south of Buena Vista Drive.  Deputies learned a vehicle driven by Sandra K. Schleis, age 56 of Waunakee, WI, was traveling southbound and slowing to turn into Poci’s Market and Greenhouse.  Another vehicle traveling southbound behind Schleis was driven by Diana M. Egan, age 69 of Deer Grove, IL, and she failed to see the slowed Schleis vehicle.  Egan’s vehicle crashed into the rear of Schleis’ vehicle, causing moderate damage to both vehicles.  Both drivers and all occupants refused medical attention on scene, but both vehicles had to be towed because of damage.  Egan was later cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.  Rock Falls Fire, Sterling Fire, CGH EMS, Illinois State Police, and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted Deputies.

7-16-17 at 4:42 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies, Morrison EMS, and Morrison Fire responded to a single-vehicle, roll-over crash on Holly Road just east of Blue Goose Road.  Upon investigation, a 17-Year-Old Sterling Female was traveling westbound on Holly Road at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle she was driving.  The vehicle slid uncontrollably into the north ditch, where it then rolled over, landing driver’s side down.  As a precaution, the driver, her 17-Year-Old Female Passenger from Dixon, IL, and ten-month-old female were all transported to Morrison Community Hospital for observation.  The driver was cited for Too Fast for Conditions.  Morrison Fire, Morrison EMS, and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
