July 7 Morrison Police Report

Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton reports the following Arrests made and Citations issued since Friday, July 7, 2017.

Arrests:  On Saturday, July 8, 2017, at approximately 6:22 p.m., Morrison Police responded to a domestic dispute at 201 W. Park Street, Morrison, IL.  As a result of the investigation, Darrin T. Rus, age 43 of Morrison, was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery.  Rus was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

On Thursday, July 13, 2017, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Lucas A. Phillips, age 32 of Morrison, IL, pursuant to an Arrest Warrant issued by Whiteside County charging Phillips with Public Fighting.  Phillips was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

FOLLOW-UP ON INCIDENT:  Morrison Police previously reported that on Sunday, July 2, 2017, approximately 5:30 p.m., Morrison Police received a complaint of an underage drinking party at 502 S. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL.  Upon arrival to the scene, Morrison Police immediately placed approximately 15 teenagers in custody as part of the investigation.  Those teenagers were later released, with those age 17 and younger released to their parents.  The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Morrison Police.  On Friday, July 7, 2017, the following persons were charged:

  • Jarrett M. Ruchotzke, age 18 of Morrison, Unlawful Consumption of Alcoholic Liquor
  • Tate R. Renkes, age 19 of Morrison, Unlawful Consumption of Alcoholic Liquor
  • Kendra A. Zuidema, age 19 of Morrison, Unlawful Consumption of Alcoholic Liquor.

Additionally, five male juveniles, all age 17, are being referred to Whiteside County Juvenile Court Services, for charges of Unlawful Consumption of Alcoholic Liquor.

The public is reminded that these are merely charges, and all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
