Elmer Oostenryk, 78, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, June 26, 2017, at his home.
Elmer was born August 5, 1938, in Morrison, IL, to Lloyd A. and Etta (Bielema) Oostenryk. He was educated in the Lincoln Grade School of rural Whiteside County and was a 1956 graduate of Morrison High School. Elmer farmed in the rural Morrison area, and had various truck driving jobs. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton and was on the Harbor Crest Board of Directors. Elmer also coached women’s softball in Morrison for many years. He loved his dogs, Punky, Coco, Chico, Bella, and Dottie. Elmer was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonja (Ted) Swanson of Albany, IL, and Rhonda (Larry Ridenour) Oostenryk of Davenport, IA; four sons, Brian (Mary) Oostenryk of Morrison, Rodney (Shelia) Oostenryk of Savanna, IL, Jason (Carmen) Oostenryk of Davenport, and Aaron (Karen) Oostenryk of Morrison; 19 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jean A. Swan of Morrison, Janice L. (William) Gengenbach of Mt. Carroll, IL, and Alice R. (Forrest) Steele of Princeton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

INTERMENT: Cottonwood Cemetery, Morrison, IL
