At 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, June 1, 2017, the Morrison High School Fillies Softball team and coaching staff departed the school parking lot, supported by an enthusiastic group of well-wishers. Their destination is EastSide Centre, 1 Eastside Drive, East Peoria, IL. The young women will compete in the IHSA Class 2A State Tournament.
Their goals are straightforward:
- beat 7th-ranked Beecher on Friday, June 2, at 5:30 p.m.
- defeat a yet-to-be-determined team on Saturday, June 3
- honor retiring Coach Tammy Deter with a final State Softball Championship
- enjoy a welcome rally sponsored by the Athletic Boosters on Sunday.
The welcome event will begin at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, June 4, in the Morrison High School gymnasium, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL.
