May 21 Sheriff’s Office Report

These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

5-21-17 at 6:09 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to a call at Riverside Apartments on IL Route 84 for a suspicious subject.  Daniel J. Smoot, age 27 of Clinton, IA, was arrested for DUI, processed at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, and released on bond, pending a future court date.  Fulton Police and Midwest Collision assisted on scene.

5-20-17 at 12:43 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on IL Route 84 and Lock Road north of Fulton, IL, for speeding.  Upon further investigation, the driver, a male juvenile, age 17 of Savanna, IL, was arrested for Speeding 35 MPH Over Posted Speed Limit and Attempting to Elude/Flee a Peace Officer.  The juvenile was transported to the Rock Falls Police Department, where he was processed and released to his guardian.  Fulton Police and Midwest Towing assisted on scene.

5-20-17 at 8:20 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies along with Fulton Police responded to the address of 901 15th Avenue in Fulton, IL, to investigate the report of a physical altercation that took place in the rural Fulton area.  During the course of their investigation, Damien K. Martin, age 27 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer.  He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail and later posted the required bond.   

5-20-17 at 5:33 a.m.  Tiana S. McGowan, age 33 of Sterling, IL, was stopped for speeding on U. S. Route 30 west of Morrison, IL.  She was cited for Speeding 74/55 MPH and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.

5-20-17 at 7:18 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies, Sterling Fire, Sterling Police, and CGH EMS were dispatched to a car-versus-semi crash on W. Lincolnway at Emerson Road, Sterling, IL.  A vehicle driven by Pamela D. Hansen, age 63 of Port Byron, IL, was traveling eastbound on Lincolnway when she was distracted by her cell phone, causing her to enter the westbound lane of a semi tractor-trailer.  The westbound tractor-trailer was driven by Dale E. Reichert, age 68 of Watertown, WI.  Pamela was taken to CGH for treatment and/or evaluation, whereas Dale refused medical treatment on scene.  Also, Pamela was cited for Improper Lane Usage.  Sterling Fire, Sterling Police, CGH EMS, Ince’s Towing, and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.

5-6-17 at 11:46 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies responded to the report of a Burglary in progress on Diamond Road near Fulton, IL.  Upon further investigation, the suspect, James D. Hammond, age 54 of Clinton, IA, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked, Unlawful Display of Registration, Criminal Trespass to Land, and Criminal Trespass to Real Property.  Hammond was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and released on a Notice to Appear.  Fulton Police Department and Midwest Towing assisted on scene.

5-15-17 at 4:23 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on IL Route 78 at Rock Road for speeding.  Upon further investigation, the driver, Laura J. Hill, age 26 of Morrison, IL, was cited for Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Hill was released with a Notice to Appear.

5-11-17 at 2:05 p.m.  Jeremy P. Johnson, age 43 of Lyndon, IL, was stopped for a registration violation on U. S. Route 30 near Moline Road.  He was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, No Valid Driver’s License, and Unlawful Display of Registration.  Williams’ Towing assisted on scene.

5-10-17 at 3:40 p.m.  A 17-year-old Tampico, IL, Female was stopped for speeding on Star Road near Matznick Road.  She was cited for speeding 84/55 MPH and released on bond, pending a mandatory court appearance.
