Morrison Music Theater Association (MMTA) will sponsor a special benefit dinner theatre performance of “Cruise into Murder.” The drama will be presented by the performing group “It’s a Mystery” on Friday, June 9, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The scene of the crime is the auditorium at Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL. The $35 ticket price includes a catered dinner and the interactive show.
Based in the Quad Cities, “It’s a Mystery” performs a variety of original, murder mystery plays. This production will include cameo appearances by MMTA members and audience participation.
Publicity promises “You’ll die laughing! Our actors mingle as guests arrive. After the salad course, a victim is discovered! an investigator of dubious qualifications enters! our off-kilter suspects are introduced!”
“Tackle the case with your fellow guests by questioning suspects between meal courses, or sit back and laugh as our outrageous characters sell their alibis. You won’t need a detective to discover that you’ve had a great night of laughs you won’t soon forget!”
There will be a blind auction, raffles, and door prizes.
After expenses, the proceeds will fund MMTA future productions. Although MMTA is on solid financial footing at this time, it is important to anticipate future needs. We want the group to continue to present quality theatrical productions to the Whiteside County area.
Seating is extremely limited and a sell-out is expected, so it is strongly suggested that tickets be purchased in advance. General admission tickets are available at Fitzgerald Pharmacy, 124 E. Main Street, Morrison, or from any Morrison Music Theatre Association Board member. Tickets not purchased in advance will be available at the door.
The entire community is invited to share in an entertaining dinner evening of murder, mayhem, and merriment–while supporting Morrison’s enduring theatrical tradition.
