American Legion Post 328 will be visible in the Morrison, IL, community during National Poppy Week, which commences Monday, May 22, 2017. The event is in memory of the fallen and for the future of the living.
Since the 1920’s, Legionnaires have distributed millions of poppies annually across the Country, in exchange for donations. Monies raised will be used by The American Legion for their programs that support veterans, the military community, and their families.
The Boeing Company is the founding sponsor of National Poppy Day.
Commander Dale Usterbowski stated, “It isn’t necessary to put any money in the container to receive a poppy, but all donations are appreciated. So please don’t avoid your Legionnaire, just because you don’t have any cash. Pick up a poppy and wear it proudly.”
