On Thursday, April 13, 2017, Clinton Community College and RSVP are hosting a SENIOR SpringTuneUP event, in partnership with ENCORE. This event will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at 1951 Manufacturing Drive, Clinton, IA, in the Clinton Community College Technology Center (formerly Graphic Arts Technology Center.)
ENCORE, which stands for Enrichment Courses for Retirement, is an opportunity for retirees to come together for a day of entertainment and enrichment. There will be several top-notch, informative speakers scheduled throughout the day. We hope participants are able to spend the day with us, get tuned up for a great spring season, sit back, and enjoy themselves. Lunch will be provided.
Special musical guests Simply Three string trio will appear. Simply Three receives praise for their ability to impress listeners with a multitude of genres that span from Puccini and Gershwin to artists such as Adele, Coldplay, and Michael Jackson. By reshaping convention through this style of genre hopping, the trio continue to seek the true essence of classical crossover, with original works as well as innovative arrangements that showcase their technical virtuosity and heartfelt musicality.
Other presentation topics will include Margo Hansen reading from her book “Down On The Farm,” floating down the river of Lumber Baron memories with Matt Parbs of the Sawmill Museum, and an introspective look at decision making. More presentations will happen that day. This event is free. Pre-register by calling 1-888-336-3907 or 563-244-7100 to register for course #179952.
