CGH Medical Center Lifts Visitor Restriction

Posted by

CGHTopViewEffective Friday, March 17, 2017, CGH Medical Center, 100 E. LeFevre Road, Sterling, IL, has lifted its temporary visitor’s restrictions, put into place to guard against the flu.

For the safety of patients and staff over the last couple of months, the hospital has limited patient visits, to two visitors per patient at one time, and only visitors who are at least 18 years of age. With flu cases on the decline, the general restrictions are no longer necessary.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while these temporary restrictions were in place,”said Dr. Paul Steinke, CGH President and CEO.

We believe these efforts helped to reduce transmission of respiratory illnesses during a period of heightened flu activity. We ask that you continue to follow these precautions to help stop the spread of germs that make you and others sick:

  • get vaccinated.
  • stay home if you are sick.
  • wash your hands frequently. Use soap and warm water whenever possible. I not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer to clean hands.
  • cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow, not your hands.
  • wear a mask if needed.
