What’s happening at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, in February?  The answer to this question is an evening with artist Marianne Biagi and “The Art of Bead Work” on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.  Beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Odell’s Program Room, this presentation will stimulate the visual senses.

Biagi’s bead work art is filled with beautifully varied color, imaginative design, and contrasting texture.  They are vibrant and touchable pieces of art!  Marianne is an enthusiastic speaker with a diverse work experience in the arts in Chicago, IL.  She will demonstrate her work and explain her creative process.

altBiagi has exhibited in numerous shows, galleries, studios, a worldwide tour, and presently, a USA tour.  Her intricately-embroidered work shown at left, entitled “In My Past,” has been chosen to travel across the United States with Mancuso’s quilt and art show, A Blind Eye.

Her biography states, “Marianne Biagi is an accomplished bead artist.  Her award winning artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally and has been featured in books and magazines.”

She works spontaneously without sketches or a plan.  She uses beadwork as her “venue for expression.”

Originally from Chicago, Marianne has created a remodeled studio in Morrison.  The studio is a retreat, crafted for imaginative ideas and creativity.  Filled with beads, materials, and threads of all colors plus a sampling of her work, the cottage truly stirs the senses.

Save Wednesday, February 20, to meet this talented woman, hear her story, and gaze at her marvelous creations. There is no charge for an evening of “The Art of Bead Work.”
