The Volunteer Educators at the Windmill Cultural Center in Fulton, IL, invite the public to attend the next program of the season. The March 8, 2017, Wild Winter Wednesdays at the Windmill Cultural Center will teach guests about the history of passenger railroads. The public is invited to gather at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, tea, and refreshments. The program begins at 9:15.
The building, 111 10th Avenue, Fulton, is accessible to people with disabilities. The program is funded through a grant from the Fulton Association for Community Enrichment (FACE).
Dr. Curt Roseman will present “The Golden Age of Passenger Railroads, Locally and in the Midwest.” Roseman has degrees from Augustana and Southern Illinois Universities and holds a PhD from the University of Iowa. He taught geography at the University of Southern California for many years and also taught in Nebraska, Kansas, and New Zealand. He has written or contributed to several books.
After retirement, Roseman moved back to the Quad Cities and has been active writing articles for newspapers, leading Channel Cat Talks, conducting walking tours, and speaking at organizations.
A new feature each week will be the addition of bread for sale by Krumpets Bakery. Guests will be able to purchase bread made with de Immigrant flour at the Windmill Cultural Center.
WWW@WCC programs are held on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. from December to the end of March. Programs are free and open to the public.
