MHS Wins Masonic Scholastic Bowl Competition

On Saturday, February 18, 2017, Morrison High School hosted 11 other schools in the annual Masonic Scholastic Bowl competition.  The Masonic Bowl is a 3-class, Statewide Tournament held at 30 sites across Illinois.

Morrison competed in Class A and came away as Champions of the Sectional.  They will compete at Masonic Bowl State on Saturday, March 4, in Bloomington, IL.

Morrison defeated East Dubuque, River Ridge, Milledgeville, Stockton, and Eastland in Pool Play, to advance to the playoffs.  After defeating Polo, Morrison edged Galena 220-170 in the Championship match, to win the event.

Morrison was led by Junior Kayla Saville who answered 37 tossups on the day.  Junior and team Captain Isaac Damhoff had 33 tossups answered.  Junior Dallas Wagenecht answered eight tossups.  Freshman Kara Saville had three and Junior Jonathan Fulton had two.
