“Tex” Banash to Discuss his “Roadside History of Illinois”

<StanBanashThe  Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society’s next meeting will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., in CGH Medical Center’s Ryberg Auditorium, 100E. LeFevre, Sterling, IL.  Meet and hear Chicago, IL, author Stan Banash, aka “Tex,” discuss his most recent book, Roadside History of Illinois.

This book has received congratulations from the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois State Historical Society.  The nearly 500 page book covers the history of the State–from the Ice Age to the present–offering a glimpse into numerous historic sites, as well as the history of the nearly 250 significant cities, towns and villages. These include Sterling, Rock Falls, and the Lincoln-Manahan Home.

Banash will describe some of the trip segments of the seven regions, interesting people, historic locations, and various incidents that contributed to the development of the Prairie State.

The author graduated from Northwestern University and obtained a Master of Arts degree from Roosevelt University.
